Range Orientation Info

Range Orientation is a free class, held at the Range, for all NEW members. Current members are also welcome to attend but are NOT required to attend for annual membership renewal.

The Range Orientation is designed to familiarize you with current Forest Service Regulations regarding our Special Use Permit and other information concerning the 5 different shooting ranges we have which include a 1,000 yd Range, Muzzle Loading / Small Bore Range, Pistol Shed, Main Rifle Range and Practical Pistol Range. The use of Shotguns on certain ranges is also explained, and we have a Multi Use area for overnight or extended use by members.

Each range has different gun and caliber safety restrictions and it is important that all members know what types of guns and calibers may be used on each range. It also gives members a chance to ask questions about Range and Multi Use area use, and clarification of any Club Rules you may not totally understand, such as the Guest Policy. It is better to learn and understand the Club and Range Rules, rather than having your shooting day shortened because of a Range or Safety violation.

Classes are held by one of our Range Safety Officers. They are held on the First Saturday and Third Sunday of each month, beginning at 10:00 am, (March through November) and 1 pm (December through February). Classes last about two hours. New members are welcome to stay and shoot after the orientation class.

After purchasing a NEW membership, you may attend any scheduled range orientation. No appointment or scheduling is required. Just show up and sign in for the class.

Please check the website Calendar Page to be sure a Range Orientation Class has been scheduled. It is also a great way for prospective members to learn about our Club and its shooting ranges.

When you arrive at the gate for your Range Orientation, let Gate personnel know you are there to attend the Class and they will issue you a guest pass to enter.

New members will receive their Membership Packets, Vehicle ID Hangers and Cards with Range Gate Lock Combination after the class, and are then welcome to stay and shoot at the Range with full Membership Benefits.

After receiving your Membership Packet, please replace your Guest Pass Hanger with your newly issued Club Vehicle ID Hanger and turn in the Guest Pass Hanger.
